EAT & DRINK

FOR THE DRINKS & ATMOSPHERE

Nebbiolo Winebar exudes warm intimacy and understated elegance, inviting you to linger over a glass. The wine list is thoughtful and generous, focused on characterful bottles that spark conversation. A cozy, refined retreat — perfect for wine lovers and slow evenings.

Located in the meatpacking district, Åben Kødbyen serves freshly tapped beers and great food. All beers are brewed there, and you eat between the large tanks with a view on the open kitchen.

If you’re sensitive to a musical atmosphere, go to Bird, a small neighborhood bar with an incredible sound system that shares its passion for music, and especially vinyl records. Bird serves exceptional cocktails, exclusively batched and bottled, with alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. The perfect blend of taste and sound.

Located in trendy Norrebro neighborhood, Pompette – which means “tipsy” in French – is the coziest spot to enjoy a drink from a meticulously curated selection of natural wines. You’ll love the warm, friendly atmosphere and the price point, more reasonable than expected. Pair your wine with typically French “apéro” food: plates of charcuterie, cheeses and comforting small cold dishes.

FOR A DELICIOUS MEAL

Kødbyens Fiskebar offers fresh, modern seafood in a space that feels both industrial and refined. The energy is lively without losing its ease. A quintessential snapshot of Copenhagen’s contemporary dining scene.

Apollo Bar feels like a cozy, artsy hideaway tucked into the courtyard of Kunsthal Charlottenborg, blending Nordic ease with laid-back sophistication. Expect simple yet inspired dishes and natural-wine cocktails, served in a space with high ceilings, vintage touches, and easygoing charm. Perfect for a relaxed brunch, casual drinks or a slow evening after a museum visit.

Restaurant Palægade is a stylish brasserie with a warm atmosphere that serves an incredible smørrebrød, a Danish specialty that you must try.  The place is perfect for a relaxed lunch and to discover the local cuisine with a touch of elegance.

For brunch, go to Apotek 57, the adjoined eatery of Frama Studio Store, where you can enjoy seasonal dishes surrounded by thoughtful design and historical architecture.

Barabba feels like Copenhagen’s laid-back Italian hideaway. Expect inventive pasta and classic dishes with a modern twist paired with a nice selection of natural wines. It’s the kind of restaurant
where you linger with friends over late dinners with good food and warm vibes.

At Kadeau, every dish is prepared with seasonal and local produce and the calm setting — an open kitchen, soft light, wooden and brass details — invites you to savour slowly. It’s haute cuisine with a humble soul.

La Banchina is a small and cozy restaurant and wine bar with only 14 seats and a menu that changes everyday. Try their breakfast or the daily selection of farm-to-tables dishes. You want to live the full Danish experience? Go to the pier next to the restaurant to access a restricted area where you can swim and bathe year-round and/or book a sauna session through the website.

FOR A COFFEE BREAK

Original Coffee Illum is a serene rooftop café nestled atop the department store ILLUM. Expect carefully roasted coffee, fresh baked goods and light brunch fare, served with a side of panoramic Copenhagen views. Ideal to enjoy a quiet moment away from the crowd.

Located in the heart of the city, Atelier September is a vegetarian and minimalist café that blends cosy hygge with artful design. If it’s in season, try their signature avocado-toast, or their granola-bowls, along with their excellent coffee.

The Coffee Collective is a reference in Copenhagen’s specialty-coffee scene, with beans sourced directly from farmers and roasted with care; The vibe is calm, confident, and distinctly Scandinavian.

Coffee is great at Democratic Coffee, but the real charm is to savor it with their specialties: freshly baked almond croissants, crafted in-house, and a good piece of reading. This coffee-library hideaway turns the coffee break into a ritual and we're all for it.

Mad & Kaffe is an institution: warm, friendly and effortlessly “hygge.” Be prepared though, as locals and tourists often queue there, either for brunch, lunch or a simple coffee break.

Andersen & Maillard gained cult status among locals, as much for its coffee roasting than for its innovative take on Danish baking. The decor itself — a mix of Japanese and Scandinavian influences — is another excellent reason to step in for a contemplative break.

In the same spirit of Danish tradition and Japanese craftsmanship mixed for the best, Andersen Bakery offers excellent coffee, perfectly laminated pastries, and a warm yet modern atmosphere that makes it a go-to for both locals and travelers.

With its open-kitchen space, the air of Københavns Bageri is filled with the warm aroma of bread and pastry, which makes it instantly welcoming.

The Roe is a serene, design-forward café inside the showroom-gallery of a Copenhagen interior-fashion brand, where minimalist style meets relaxed café culture. A calm, elegant retreat.

Lille Petra is a hidden-gem café tucked away in a tranquil courtyard near the city center. Inside, you’re surrounded by elegant design furniture and soft, warm tones that make you feel at home. Perfect for light lunches, seasonal breakfasts and a delicious artisanal coffee.

MUST-SEE

THE TYPICAL MUST-DO

Begin your day with the visit of the Torvehallerne farmers’ market, that pulses with Copenhagen’s love for good food. Walk through the lively stalls offering fresh produce, pastries, seafood, and street-food delights. It’s where locals and travellers mingle and taste in an open-hearted market setting.

Then, if the weather allows it, visit the city by bike, as it’s probably the best way to get by. Live the Hygge Life and walk along the city’s coziest street, Vaernedamsvej, in the Vesterbro neighbourhood.

If you’re willing to taste the Danish lifestyle, head to Harbour Swimming. After a cleaning operation in the 90’s, it’s now considered as a top destination for year-round swimming. For those seeking a winter challenge, the Sandkaj Harbor Bath in the Nordhavn district stays open all year.

FOR A CULTURAL STROLL

Visit the beautiful Tivoli Gardens then head to the adjacent Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, located in the center of Copenhagen. Art and architecture lovers will fall in love with this museum that makes you travel back in time, from the ancient wonders of Egypt, Italy, and Greece to the refined art of French
impressionism and the Danish Golden age. Enjoy a coffee or tea in the serene winter garden.

Operaparken or Opera Park is also a must-see. The city’s newest green space stands out from the modern glass buildings that dominate the waterfront, and its greenhouse – featuring a restaurant and a café – is opened year-round.

For the museums, we recommend the Copenhagen Contemporary and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, considered a renowned art destination for its collection as much as for the way the museum itself blends with its surroundings. Located at 30 minutes of the city, in the coastal village of Humlebaek, it offers peaceful views of southern Sweden and a sculpture park. An absolute must-see.

FOR SHOPPING

Mads Nørgaard is a local fashion brand known to blend clean lines with playful, everyday essentials. If you look for comfortable, timeless wardrobe staples with a focus on durability and urban edge, it's the place for you.

Multi brand design and fashion store Lubarol offers a refined mix of clothing, accessories, home décor, beauty and artisanal goods, always with a focus on craftsmanship, quality, and timeless design. Typically Danish.

Located in historic St Pauls Apotek, Frama is more than a store. You can find a curated selection of furniture, lighting, and lifestyle products but it's also a vibrant creative hub.

And since concept stores are a thing in Copenhagen, visit New Mags, where literature meets art. It's THE destination where beautiful coffee table books, magazines and accessories are just waiting for you to find them in a dreamy space.

Nestled in the fashion district with a flagship store in Montergrade, Another Aspect is built on the principles of sustainability and timeless design. You can shop there but it's also a community-driven space designed to hang and lay back, Bonus? It houses one of the city’s most loved coffee bar.

SLEEP

FOR A PERFECT NIGHT’S SLEEP

Hôtel d’Angleterre is an institution, with a classic and timeless decor that exudes majesty. The historic palace-hotel dates back more than 250 years and has hosted the "creme de la creme". It's also located on the iconic square of Kongens Nytorv, which is an ideal starting base to discover the city's key attractions.

Nobis Hotel Copenhagen kind of brings historic grandeur and Scandinavian minimalism together. In 2025, it was awarded a Michelin key, which recognises "a very special stay". For those who look for an elevated stay in the cultural heart of the city.

Built in a neo-Baroque building next to the Tivoli Gardens and Copenhagen Central Station, Villa Copenhagen strikes the perfect balance between laid-back energy and luxury — as every carefully considered detail and impeccable piece of craftsmanship quietly reveals to those who know. As a bonus, the hotel also features a rooftop pool, a rarity in Copenhagen.

Audo Boutique Hotel feels like a serene Scandinavian refuge where understated elegance meets mindful hospitality and where rooms feel like a home away from home. The hotel is nestled into the Audo House, that unites a showroom, a concept shop, a café and an event space in a single, community-building universe. Definitely Danish.
